Three of the modes that the join States used to deal with foreign nations were Isolation, Imperialism, and Internationalism. throughout 1865 to 1930 the American foreign policy changed from Isolation, to Imperialism, to Internationalism. Some of these modes were successful small-arm others were non. Isolation is when a nation does not begin whatever contact with both other nation; it is similar to be neutral. An example of isolation is the fight of 1812, France and Great Britain were having a warfare and the linked States chose to be neutral and not take all sides. But the British navy attacked U.S boats and took the sailors for their own navy. Because of this the United States was push to go to war with Great Britain. This is an example of Isolation because the United States tried to stay neutral. This mode of foreign policy was not that successful because the United States could not stay neutral and give out up going to war with Britain. Imperialism is when you build an empire. An example of Imperialism would be the United States taking control of Cuba, the Philippines. In Cuba there rent been two revolts against the Spanish who had control over them.

The Americans sympathized with the Cubans because they reminded them of the time the U.S fought for independency against Britain.
